Ashleigh's Chili

Assorted bell pepper vegetables from MexicoImage via Wikipedia
History
Ashleigh stayed a few months one summer with Theresa and Matt.  Once day Ashleigh threw together a chili recipe that turned out so well Theresa and Matt had to write it down.
Ingredients

1 lb
ground beef

3
Italian sausages

1
red bell pepper, diced

1
green bell pepper, diced

3
jalepenos, diced

1
onion, diced

1 can
Kidney Beans, Lt. Red, drained

1 can
28oz can of diced Tomatoes - do not drain

Chili Powder and Tobasco to taste
Directions

  1. -Cut up sausages into bite size pieces and brown, along with the ground beef
  2. -Brown onion and peppers
  3. -combine ingredients into large pot
  4. -add water if needed
  5. -bring to a boil then turn to low to simmer for around 3 hours
  6. -add chili powder and Tobasco to increase spiciness, if desired

Special Directions/Considerations
To make this a 'one-dish' meal: You can brown the meat in the large pot, then remove (leaving the grease) and then brown the onions and peppers in the same pot. After they're browned, throw the meat back in along with the rest of the ingredients. Voila! Only one pot was used to make the meal!
